What I did :
Kicking things off with the second day of my Independent Studies course. I created a logo. I knew how to make a logo before but I wanted to up my game and learn something I didn't know how to use and that was the 3D feature on Photoshop and has probably become my favourite feature because of all the different things you can do on there. It's absolutely insane. So after creating this logo I went and put in on my Youtube channel because that's the reason i was creating it.
Here is the Final Logo :

Here is the Final Logo :
THE STEPS
1st. I chose to make a regular Icon of what I wanted which was a phoenix.
2nd. I then turned it into a 3D Phoenix and added some shine affects to it. I also rendered it in the progress.
3rd. I added some lighting and background affects.
What I learned :
. Today, I learned how to create a logo in Photoshop. Not a standard logo but a 3D logo that I will use for a very long time because I'm proud of it. This was my very first time using the 3D feature so I will pretty excited but also VERY overwhelmed because of the sheer amount of the 3D features that were available.
First, I learned how to make an Icon 3D by going to the 3D section and selecting "New 3D extrusion from selected layer."
Then I learned how to add shine affects to the 3D areas to not have it just be black by using the first 2 tools from this picture. I learned that I had to use the color pallet the change up how the 3D shadow looked. The 2 tools were the "Front Bevel Material" and "Extrusion Material."
After that, I learned that you could render on Photoshop and that It looks immensely better if you render than if you don't.
Finally, I learned how to change glow of the 3D image and the glow of the background by going to "Hue and Saturation" in the adjustments tab.
What I plan to learn tomorrow :
My goal for next day's class is to create a channel art wallpaper for my channel by using some of the tips from today and also using new ideas that I will have to learn in Photoshop. I want to create a channel similar to my Icon so it won't be contrasting with the background that I have now which just a plain blue background with my username. I also plan to incorporate some of social media links in it to. I will have to learn the dimensions of a channel art as well.
